some doubts

hi guys ! i´m new to this forum and I have here some questions, I make gaming videos, that have a LOT of motion, so they take a lot of space, i gather the .avis uncompressed at vegas video and then compress video and audio at virtual dub.

my question is:

i´ve been trying to use xvid( 1.0.3), though i´ve never reached that perfect quality/size, i´ve been trying some quantization changes, some bitrate changes, second pass, one pass, etc.. but without some results.

i´ve been also trying windows media video 9, the quality/size is really great, but i wanted to increase it a bit, though it seems that i cant raise quality even if I increase bitrate...

does anyone can help with some settings, or some other codecs?

also tried VP6 without any major results :\
