  1. I have a two DVDs that got cracked in my bag, i tried to run them through DVDShrink, but both failed.

I used DVD Decryptor to strip the files to my HDD, one completed ok after several hours and the second i canceled after 14 hours, i thought it might burn out my writer.

The first seems ok, have compressed with DVDShrink, will bur later.

The second, the erros seemed to be with the extras. i have 7 vobs, VTS_01_1 to VTS_01_7 6 @ 0.99gb and one @ 430mb, these are the movie.

I cant load this into DVDShrink, gives error "failed to open d:\VTS_01_8.vob system can not find the file"

Im looking for advice to turn this back to a playable standalone DVD

    Thanks.

If all you want is the movie.
Copy just the movie .vob's to a folder.
Run ifoedit and tell it to create ifo's.
    Then get vts sectors.
After that you can run it through shrink
and you will have saved your movie.

I had a similiar experience. I used Tmpgenc Dvd Author and added the vobs (in the correct order), made my menu and saved the output to my hard drive. Then use Dvdshrink to compress to the appropriate size and burn. This way lets you make your menu, add chapters etc.
