  1. First time I'm trying to burn VCD, read a lot at this webpage b4 burning, but couldn't find a solution, please help

    Software using: Nero 5.0.3.8
Player using : GE Digital 5803P (this player plays everything VCD, DVD, CD-R, CD-RW, also MP3s)

    The Problem:
I have a VCD (a very simple one, tracks only, no menu) If I use nero to copy the whole CD (CD copy), then the GE digital plays the copied VCD just fine.

But I just want to copy some tracks in that VCD, so I use VCD gear to convert all *.dat (the only ones I want) to *.MPEG, then I open nero and select "Video CD" and starting making a "new" one. I drag these *.MPEG to make VCD (just normally).

When I put this new copied VCD into the player, it doesn't play so well. The player does read the disc as VCD, but it keeps saying loading but never play anything on screen, the track timer doesn't displaying anything, just staying still (not counting from 1 sec and up like normally did). After waiting a long time, I press "fastforward" wow I saw it plays normally onscreen, I thought it's working, WRONG. after the track ends, the problem restart over the next track.

What have I done wrong? What is the different from original and the one I create by using making "Video CD" option by Nero? Can any1 help please?

    Thank you

If you are using the same CD-R(W)media as you did when you made the disk copy, then I doubt you are doing anything wrong. Just check that you didn't make the pause in Nero "infinite"..If you did, right click on each mpeg after you have dragged it into Nero and change it to either 0 seconds or whatever you wish. Other than that try upgrading Nero - it might be better in the long term.

  3. Hi aldus4, thanks for replying, but you know what? This morning when I woke up, and I thought about it, the problem is that the player have hard time reading the disc at the beginging of disc, beginning of tracks, and end of tracks and discs; I remember my friend once told me when he create CD music, and he checked that "DISC AT ONCE" and he explain something about between tracks that I don't remember exactly, but I tried again making VCD and I checked that option "disc at once". It worked, WO! Thank GOD

Thanks aldus for replying though, is it true that new version of NERO can make menu?

As I always use DAO I never even thought about that possibility. Glad to hear that its working. And Yes, Nero can make simple thumbnail or index linked menus.
