dvd recorder sony 900 but no sound when i try to convert

i have a sony dvd-recorder (Sony RDR-HX900) and i have try to convert a dvd that i have made with it.
when i try to convert the dvd in my pc to divx, the picture is fine but i get no sound.
does somebody know a solution for this problem?
please help

i was just goning to post a similar question. I burn a -r and then a + r and get sound from my cheap diamond vision dvd player from walmart but no sound from a toshiba sd-3900. It was just a straight tranfer from a 8mm tape....

Whats Kind of Audio does the Recorder Use?
Sounds like it isnt Ac3 maybe Mpg Audio and some players have a hard time Playing it.
