  1. can anybody tell me where i can find a guide for xvid matricies well i mean custom xvid matrices cause i wanna know how to use them

  2. I would suggest checking with Doom9.org.

    They seem to be the "experiment" group that likes to customize things. I actually got a matrix that I like from one of their discussions. I was lost on the details of how it works and just barely able to follow the concepts, but I liked the results.

    One of the keys (Doom9 folks will be able to expand on this), to custom matrices is using models of how the human eye and brain percieves colors and details. By cutting down the amount of detail/ data used for areas that we can't really see, more bandwidth is available for accurately representing the details we do see.

    For example, details in shadows are barely perceived, so less bits are used compared to well-lit areas. The same goes for color information in shadows.

    How they get these models, and how they build a matrix using this model is out of my arena, but that's the basic concept.

    If you ever find a basic language explaination of matices, I for one would like to see it as well.
