  1. I presently have a dual layer DVD which contains 2 movies (part 1 and part 2). The first movie is on the first layer, while part 2 is on the second layer. what i'd like to know is if i can copy part 1 (preserving menus) to one DVD-R, and copying part 2 (preserving menus) to another DVD-R? how would i do this?

Layers are not relevent to this exercise, and only serve to confuse. I have done this many times with DVD Shrink as well.

Disk two, replace the movie with a simple still image telling viewers to go to disk one for the main feature. This can be done in MS Paint if necessary. In the Compression Settings for the movie, choose Still Image from the drop down list, then browse to your picture. This could eat up to 400MB, but most extras don't fill a single disk anyway.

Disk one is the same, but replacing all extras with a still refering to disk two for features.
