I made a DivX 5.2.1 AVI with two MP3 audio tracks (using AutoGK) and the DVP642 allows switching between them using the Audio button on the remote.
This really came as a surprise... I highly doubted this would work, but it did. Anyone else get this kind of thing to work? (the reason I ask is that I'm still trying to decide if I'm asleep and dreaming, LOL).
Very cool, now I can put director's commentaries in my rips. My esteem for this player just jumped a notch.

No surprises. I am surprised that you are surprised. I allways thought this is normal. For a long time since I have DVP630 player I'm muxing 2 and even more audio streams into avi file to select whatever I like while playing. So I can have film in original language and in my native translation in one package.
I had no idea before that there could be people who doen't know this feature of Philips divx player. Enjoy!
BTW it's not a big deal to mux in additional audio streams into existing avi file using VirtualDubMod. It may take a job to do synchronizing new audio with existing video stream when you have them from different sources. Some lazy guys can find the job annoying... But the result deserves the efforts I can make it sure especially if you like different cuts or are bilingual movie viewer.
