microsoft net framework ?

I have bought, downloaded and installed svcd2dvd 1.5, and it seems to work ok.
During the installation, I was "ordered" to also download and install Microsoft net framework, in order for the svcd2dvd to function.
So I did.
But after this, every time I startup my windows XP, the startup stops at the login window, and I have to click on my own login name to continue loading windows. And note, I am the only user, so I do not need that.
I have used Tweakui to set up direct login, and I can see that the checkmark to do that has been removed.
SO I put it back, but shortly thereafter the checkmark is gone again - and I have to login via the login screen as described above.
I have the Microsoft net framework under suspicion, but of course it could be something else.
ANyone else has this problem and knows how to correct it?

remove the ASP.NET Machine Account from the user list
