As a new owner of E55, although I can't find any reference to it in the manual, is there a way that I can record from, a camcorder or whatever, use the great editing facilities on the RAM disc, and then overlay (dub) a soundtrack over the edited home movie ??

If you are converting silent movies from VHS tapes, connect only the video output from the VCR. For the audio inputs on the DVD recorder use the audio outputs from the CD player or tape player.

Tks for reply. But I want to do is record all the video onto the e55, then edit the video, then add the audio to it.
Is this possible ?

No. In order to do that kind of editing (audio/video dub) you will have to use some kind of linear/non linear editing system before recording with E55. Sorry, DVD recorders are not substitute for editing systems.

If you don’t need frame accurate editing I don’t see a problem editing your movies while you transfer them to a DVD. For more about this look here:
