What settings in Studio 9 will give best video play back quality on 32" TV?? Is MPEG 4 better. What is CBR & VBR. Quality is grainy now on TV. I use the firewire plug on my Creative sound card to download DV from camera. Will I get better quality with a video capture card?? If so which would you suggest for best quality? Thanks

Tailgunner9,
Take a look at the Glossary section of this site for an explanation of CBR and VBR.
MPEG 4 will not work unless you have an MPEG 4/DivX capable DVD player. DVD is MPEG2. I am sure Studio 9 has some standard selections like High quality DVD, standard DVD, long playing DVD and so on. If the video is 60mins or less then choose the best DVD quality and give it a go. If you have DVD RW discs it will save you some money to burn your trials to them.
I suggest you use something like WinDV to transfer your DV from camera to HD. WinDV is free.
You will not necessarily get better quality using a capture card. I personally think it is better to work with DV, which is avi. Do lots of trial and error with Studio 9 until you know how it works.
It will be a long learning curve so sit back and enjoy the ride.bits
