You guys may have answered this a millions times, but searching for the answer has escaped me.. "I want to record my personal library of VHS movies to VCD, but don't know where to start. I have a DVD player that plays multiple formats, including VCD. I need to know what I need to get to do these recordings. If it would be easier to Email me than posting it, I am OJBonneySr@aol.com. Any help will be appreciated.

  3. capture card capable of doing 30fps (60 fields per second would be better).

    VirtualDub

    HUFFYUV or MJPEG codec

    TMPGEnc

    Use virtualdub to capture

    Use TMPGEnc to encode

You'll need to use virtualdub's multisegment feature and frameserving features (first only if your using win 95/98/Me)

Look at the guides here for the basics, doom9.org for more advanced topics, especially dealing with virtualdub.

Digital-digest.com has some guides written by nicky, these are also a very good source to learn from.
