  1. money not really an option - what is the best program out there for making dvd menus and authoring?

    i want to be able to make both simple and complex animated menus. all help appreciated.

    p.s dont suggest nero vision - quite simply it sux and doesnt work on my pc (see post https://www.videohelp.com/forum/viewtopic.php?t=254416)

    dvd-lab / dvd-lab pro or ulead dvd workshop (demos available).

    dvd maestro or sonic scenarist if you want all dvd features but they are not as simple as the above.

  3. May be a good option for you is buying the adobe suit. You can get them all together at a reduced price. Encore to encode, photoshop for simple non animated menus and after effects for you motion graphics. They integrate quite well. e.g.

    Create a menu in Encore using one othe templates, select to edit in photoshop for more control or it can create an after effects project for you so you can start moving your graphics aroung.

    Not an all in one tool so there will be a lot of learning required esspecially on After Effects.

    DVD Lab Pro and Photoshop are greate for still menus. Throw in after effects for motion work.

    TMPGEnc DVD Author is cheap, and it has a trial version if you want to try it. It is a very good choice, and very easy to learn too I think.

  6. DVDLab (and pro) will both do motion menus, transition effects, and more.
