Hi All,
I'm looking for a way to convert 16-bit 44,100 hz or 48000 hz wave or flac files to lpcm [so I can make some Audio only DVD's]
Please note, I need lpcm not pcm
Any software suggestions, preferably freeware?
TIA

The only difference between uncompressed .WAVs and (L)PCM files
is the RIFF header/container, plus the inverted byte-order.
DVD-lab Pro for example happily accepts 48kHz uncompressed .WAVs.
Audacity should be able to resample 44.1kHz to 48kHz and
save the result as a "raw" LPCM stream, if that's what you really need.

Hi Midzuki
Updated Info: I deleted my lplex folder and copied over a fresh version - now lplex is accepting my 16/24 bit 48kHz wav or flac files
----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
I am using the opensource lplex application
http://audioplex.sourceforge.net/
I have used this before just using 16-bit 48kHz wav or flac files - but now I am getting an error message indicating that audio files are not "lpcm"
I was able to use eac3to to convert a 16-bit 48kHz wav to 16-bit 48kHz flac and lplex accepted it
I have also used Audio DVD Creator and Apollo Audio DVDMaker [I think it has been discontinued] - I do know that these two applications internally converted wav/pcm to lpcm - as this format is necessary to make a compliant DVD . . .
I have made several audio only dvds that give me 6 hours of lossless music - I have even used ac3 at 192 kbit and put 10 albums onto one CD that played on my DVDplayer, my MPEG4 player and of course, on my computer
Thanks -

Hello,
I'm trying to convert 5.1 Flac to 5.1 LPCM for streaming it to my DLNA-compliant BD Player, which doesn't support Flac playback, but supports LPCM over LAN - not sure if multichannel LPCM will be playable via its 7.1 analog RCA Out. I tried latest eac3to base package for this by running command:
eac3to input.flac output.lpcm
which results in a file not playable on any player supporting LPCM playback like Daum PotPlayer or VLC.
What I'm doing wrong, and how to approach this task? What other players can play multichannel LPCM? What media info tool can ID media correctly for multichannel LPCM?Last edited by zamar27; 1st Jun 2012 at 12:36.
