  1. Ok here's the deal. I have a Toshiba laptop and its fairly new Winxp home and i have a dlink wireless card and router, but the problem is i have cable broadband connection and when i hook it all up i get no IP 0.0.0.0 is what i get.

    i cant release/renew or anything........my TCP/IP settings are all correct and network adaptors working fine. i have a desktop and its working great i even get signal from the modem ... very good 3 bars from my wireless card but no ip?

  2. Are you sure you're connecting to your wireless router? Maybe there's another wireless router signal the laptop is picking up.

    Make sure your router is set for DHCP, so that it will auto assign an IP.
    Also, if your laptop has a "Network Bridge" listed in your connections, delete it, I had the same problem when I bought my laptop, and that was the solution.
