I've had my new toy for a week now & I must say it's wonderful!!
It seems the price has dropped to $138 & they're not refurbished!
I was amazed at the picture & sound quality! I'm using Memorex RWs & they work in all players in my house! (JVC, Apex, Sansui, Phillips & my laptop) I threw in some old VCDs & looked great also!
My only regret is that I have to leave the television on the same channel I'm recording because I have not been successful in tuning channels into the recorder. Can someone enlighten me on this subject.
I copied my nephew's wedding onto dvd using my jvc camcorder via firewire...OMGoodness!! Its crystal clear!!
This is so far the best $138 I've spent in a while!!

Are you using just regular cable? I wouldnt think it would tune channels from the satellite or digital cable boxes, but I dont know. Where is it $138, Walmart? I was thinking about picking up a second one for another room.

Yes, Wal-Mart is now selling the iLO DVDR04 for $138 and change. I noticed this yesterday when I returned my iLO DVDRHD04 (I just couldn't stand the Green Tint in the picture).

Yes, I'm using a regular digital cable box.
The manual, page 12 TV Channel Setup, talks about scanning & tuning channels.
Yes, its now $138.99 at Walmart altho Walmart.com still shows $149.99

cool thanks for the heads up, I was going to buy a Liteon LVW-5101 at sams club, but they took it off their website for some reason. It looked like a dvdr04, but had more features like inserting your own chapters, choice of screenshot for menu, lp mode built in, .jpg thumbnail mode, and was 139.99, I wish I jumped on that
