  1. Hi,
I have a PAL DVD ripped using CladMdec or SmartRipper, when using DVD2AVI to preview, the frame rate comes up as 20FPS. Needless to say the resulting mpg (PAL VCD) using TMPGENC jerks every x Frames, I assume due to it being encoded at 25FPS.

    Anyone else seen this?
    Anyway around this?

    Thanks.

  2. What movie is that ??? I have not seen a single DVD that has 20fps, that doesn't make sense, it's way below any standard!

  4. I also downloaded an .avi file that was 20 fps. It was a cartoon, and when I converted to mpg at 23.97 fps, it worked ok on vcd but was somewhat broken up.

I saw a DVD once, cant remember the title, that said on the outside it was encoded at the original film speed of 15fps (or was it 17fps?), and it used sufficient pulldown to bring the playback rate to 29.97. This was a film made prior to Hollywood adopting the 24fps/4:3 aspect standards, like back in the mid-1920s.

I didn't buy it -- the description indicated the film was some sort of obnoxiously racist thing. It must have been "Birth of a Nation" now that I think of it.
