    Hi,

I have a divx encoded at 20 fps.

It plays jerky in my standalone. Is there a way to recover the right fluency if I change it to 25 fps (or may be to 23.976, because I don't know the original fps of the dvd they use to encode it)?

    Thank you in advance.

Are you certain it is actually 20fps? The reason I ask is that some software will report 25fps PAL as being 20fps if so-called "movie mode" is forced. Changing the setting to "honour pullldown flags" will often restore playback to its correct 25fps runtime.

    Thanks for answering.

I'm sure it's 20fps, because it is what Gsopt says.

Where can I change to honour pulldown flags? What I have is a divx.

  4. You can't do anything. This is probably the result when some idiot set DGIndex for Force Film on a PAL DVD. That's how you turn a perfectly good PAL 25fps video into a useless 20fps AVI. You're missing 20% of your video. It's only good for the Recycle Bin.

I'm afrsid I haven't a clue mate I only ever convert DVD to DVD but I have had DGindex report a file as 20fps when it was in fact 25fps. It is all too common for downloaded DivX files to be encoded with the wrong frame sequence which is why I seldom bother with them.
