Hello,
I was listening to my JOHN HIATT "Perfectly Good Guitar" cd again today and enjoyed as I usually do.....
Is there other "SEUDO" country music like this out there??? Stuff without all that "twanging" and complaining about everything????
Country is NOT A FAVORITE of mine - quite low on my music spectrum. But Hiatt's GUITAR cd is a pretty popesque collection and would like more similar to this....
Suggestions???
Kevin

Most modern country artists have at least 1-2 upbeat songs on their albums. Travis Tritt, Pat Green, Dwight Yoakum, Shania Twain, Ty England, Big & Rich, Mark Chesney, John Michael Montgomery, Gretchen Wilson .... just a few off the top of my head. There's many more. Flip it on a country station during rush hour.
If you think Linkin Park and Kid Rock is "rock", then no. That's the only catch. None of this rock-rap crap, and the "new age" rock junk that has come of it.Want my help? Ask here! (not via PM!)

I HATE country music.
Except Jonny Cash.
If you want music thats different and SOMETIMES has a bit of country sound check out Alabama 3. (no relation to the band Alabama) -

I got just the band for you. Hayseed Dixie. They are a country band that covers ACDC songs...hence the name. If that's not rock-like country I don't know what is. It sounds gimmicky, and I guess it is, but the songs actually sound really cool how they rework them. It never fails. Everytime I have ever played this album in public I have had someone ask me who they are and where they can get it.
You may like Travis Tritt's Modern Day Bonnie and Clyde. That's one of the few contemporary country songs I like. You've probably heard it already though since it got alot of airplay.
BTW: I'm a Texan too. -
Shaina Twain!!!!!!!
All the best part is this: As you listen to her sing, you can hold her photos
with one hand as you ________________ with the other. (Fill in the blank.)
Personally, I'd enjoy a icy cold beverage. GOTTCHA! -
Loath country, but love blue grass / old mountain style
Who here loved Oh Brother where out Thou? -
Mettallica has the theme for "The Good, The Bad and The Ugly" for an intro on the double disc "S&M".....
Try some Lynard Skynard Yoda, that's about as country-rock as it gets. Speaking of Metallica & Lynard Skynard any one ever hear the "Tuesday's Gone" cover on Garage Days Revisited. Never know it was Mettallica. They did it better than Lynard Skynard and Live too. -

Thats why I have my trusty XM Radio 8)
also I cannot suggest the band Alabama 3 enough, those guys are awesome. Go pickup "Exile on coldharbor lane" (their first CD) and if your not blown way give it a chance and you will be. Very few bands putting out stuff that good these days. Or head over to thier website they might have something there you can check out.

edit: alot of so so tracks only for download on their site. But check out the song Bullet Proof one of my many favs. Not sure if its the normal version of not so don't blame me if it sounds sucky. heh

$95 is actually cheap - I see tickets more in the $200 price range and up nowadays. -
Hello,
I paid $50 for my ticket to PHIL COLLINS at the Palace of Auburn Hills last year. It was upper deck away from the stage but had a nearly front on view. AWESOME concert and the tour DVD finally is released here on TUESDAY

The front 5 rows are $400+ depending on the venue...... Included reserved parking, backstage pass, some after concert reception, and a bag of trinkets.
That's the regular price too, pre scalper.
