Watching (not capturing, just playing back via my ATI 9700 TV player) videos on my computer I am noticing that the video "stutters" or "hic-ups" every 15 seconds or so. TAking a look at CPU useage via Task Manager the "stutter" in the picture appears related to the useage jumping from 2% to 52% at equal intervals. I have a P4 CPU with 1.5 gig of ram in an XP Pro OS. Any ideas what device or process could be regularly causing the CPU useage to jump which would interfere with the video picture playing smooth? What are the common culprits? STrange thing is that the usage graph ends up looking like an EKG with the spikes being at equal intervals???
Thanks for your time,
Dave

I'm guessing it is your machine doing DHCP requests. Set your TCP/IP settings for Static IP. Let us know if you need help doing so.
