    What media are you using?

Please give the media id code. THe name brand doesn't tell exactly what disc it is. The name brand on the disc usually doesn't actually manufacturer the disc.

You can get the media id code from DVD Decrypter. Or DVD Info Pro which gives you way more info about the media that you are using.

But yeah, most likely bad media. Generic no name discs are usually crap in my experience.

Are they made in Singapore or Taiwan?

I don't have personal experience with optodisc, people on the forums here say the Singapore ones are better.

Also what DVD writer/burner are you using. They almost all say that they are +/- but usually have a preference for + or -.

  12. I think the burner is more imporant than the media........on that site as well as this one I hear alot of bad stuff about CMC........and my dvds work good.......I think it all depends on the burn and how you do it

    also probably the dvd player

Think again. Good media is compatible with almost all writers and players, crappy stuff works on some equipment some of the time. Besides, good media doesn't cost that much more.
