  1. Well let me first begin by stating that I have been a member here for quite sometime and appreciate all the help that you guys give. With that said I was reluctant to post this question as I have seen others get smashed for similar questions. With that said I have searched the forums for answers to no avail also I have backed up The Forgotten, RE2, Lil Black Book so I have tried most methods out there. I have the newest version of DVD Decrypter and DVD shrink and I can rip the movie successfully with DVD Decrypter yet when I attempt to shrink the files DVD shrink simply goes away or shutsdown. I am completely lost on this one and was wondering if you guys could shed a little more light on the situation for me.

so you can't get it to work in DVDShrink even with File mode when you rip?

is this with both the latest version of the programs?

  5. I would reload Shrink. Can the movie as ripped with Decryptor play in PowerDVD/WinDVD? I've ripped FNL with v3.1.90 and backed with Shrink 3.2 movie only w/o issue.

  9. Bazooka,
is that necessary God I have used DVD decrypter for quite a while now I know how to rip a DVD in file mode and I know how to open those files in DVD shrink now you explain to me how this could be user error when I have followed these steps several times to the tee. I had problems with FNL and then did the same exact steps for Forgotten and RE2 first time through no problem.

If you dont want to help fine dont its not the end of the world yet the forums are here for people who enjoy sharing information and helping others, with that said if anyone has any other suggestions I would greatly appreciate it.

  14. I ripped FNL with smartripper then dvd2one no problem. I will say that little black book and the forgotten were different for me also. I had to rip with the latest dvd decrypter then use dvd shrink. I will tell you this also, before choosing to back up set the start frame. I had to move the start frame forward to remove the black video at the beginning. Not sure if you will know what I mean. After ripping these movies I noticed that shrink and dvd2one would report the movie time to be longer than it should. The beginning was black frames. Must be part of the copy protection? After setting the start frame to where the movie actually begins the total time becomes what the movie should be. Maybe this makes no sense or maybe you can't even get this far. Also have you tried ripping the movie again and retrying to shrink? Maybe a bad rip?

For what it's worth, I had the exact same problem with FNL using DVD Decryptor and DVD Shrink.

I simply split the movie to 2 discs using IfoEdit.

I had no problems playing either disc, but the movie was awful

  18. use DVD Decrypter to make it iso then open it in dvd shrink 3.1 not the new one the previous version

Awful quality wise? Or awful as in a waste of time to watch?

    .

The video quality was perfect since it was uncompressed. The movie itself was awful. One of the 10 or 20 worst movies I've ever seen.

I generally like sports movies, but I honestly think I would have had more fun staring at the wall and allowing my mind to wander. It was one of those movies that is so boring that you feel mentaly exhausted after watching it.

But I don't want to hijack this post. I just wanted to assure tgreen300 that he wasn't the only one having this problem

  25. I justed did this movie in Clone dvd vs 2.4.5.4 with great success so the problem seems to be in shrink or recode.

I have posted how to rip this movie on various other threads click my magnifying glass to see these posts.

I like Friday Night Lights. Great characters. Most realistic characters I have ever seen in a movie about High School sports.

When I watch it with other people the played football or any sport in High School they agree.

But you know what they say about opinions...

    ...Everybody has one.

I used VOB BLANKER please click my magnifying glass and read if you want to know how.
    snappy phrase

    I don't know what you're talking about.

That's the great thing about anything creative. Two people can experience it and come away with completely different opinions.

I wasn't given any reason to like any of the charaters. The brash arrogant WR reminded me of MY High School QB who I hated. The psycho QB? Please! Let's not leave out the underachiever with the overbearing father. Talk about cliche. I played football in school and I don't seem to remember any mute linebackers. He must be tough if he dosen't talk, right? Whatever.

We were able to win two state championships when I played in high school but I never saw the kind interest in our team that the people in this movie displayed. And I sure as hell can't relate to playing the State Championship in front of 50,000 people. I guess things are different in Texas.

Anyway, I hated the film. But like you said, plenty of people have enjoyed
this movie. All the more power to them. Nobody is right or wrong. We're just talking about opinions
