I know people normally tell you to use soft lights for video but i just wanted to know if i couldn't use the lights that photographers use, that is with the umbrellas to soften the light. I mean they should be the same thing.

I have the choice to choose between a 2000 watt soft light, 250 watt light with a soft box and 500 watt light with umbrellas , which is the photographer type of light. Now they cost $359, $312 and $190 respectively. Now please note that i am not from the US so these may look cheap for you all but i have to multiply that by $2.86 then put on at least 50 % excise duty and what's not, I end up paying alot.
