Did you try reinstalling it?
Either that or it hit a corrupt DVD file -
yes i reinstalled it and it was Friday Night Lights i was coppying which i think just came out today or something so i donno bout a corrupt dvd file
-
any suggestions for programs that allow me to copy the whole dvd with all menus and extras.. please help im a newbie
-
So DVD shrink was working before? What movies did it work on and what did you use to rip them first?
-
Use dvddecrypter to rip, and dvd shrink to shrink, then your burning program to burn.
Problem solved -
maybe try an older version of DVDShrink ? http://mrbass.org has a link to a heap of old versions
If in doubt, Google it. -
He should make sure to rip with DVD Decryptor in File Mode if he wants everything though. Then he can use DVD Shrink to make the files the correct size to fit on disc then burn with favorite burning program just as zook said.
-
DVD Decrypter does not work for Friday Night Lights.
DVD Decrypter will rip it. but then DVD Shrink won't shrink it.
Use VOB BLANKER
I always use DVD43 with DVD SHRINK, but not with DVD Decrypter. DVD43 confuses DVD Decrypter and you get Dialog boxes you have to click "ok" on.
Use VOB BLANKER to rip FRIDAY_NIGHT_LIGHTS then run the files through DVD Shrink.
Make a folder named FRIDAY_NIGHT_LIGHTS to put the files in. -

VOB BLANKER worked though.
A File mode rip for DVD Decrypter might work. I ripped in the wrong mode maybe you are right.
Bazooka have you already backed up Friday Night Lights. -
I don't think you can ever go wrong if you rip in file mode. I have always ripped in file mode and not a single problem to date. My most recent backups look best though thanks to the current version of DVD Shrink.

@Bazooka, I'm sure I've read quotes by LIGHTNINGUK that DVDDecrypter does rip DVD's but then DVDShrink won't accept them. I haven't got the exact links handy but it was in the DVDDecrypter forums
-
it's something to do with the copy protected ones and whatever DVDDecrypter does (or did as it may have just been a one off) to rip it
I can't find the thread again as it may just be one DVD, I don't really know
maybe someone else has seen what I'm blabbing on about -
ignore me, it was a post from late last year regarding RE2 I skip read
-
Sorry MackemX, I think Bazooka is most likely right.
If you rip the DVD in File Mode on DVD Decrypter it should work.
DVD Decrypter ISO mode combined with the New copy Protection, ArCos, I think is what it's called, will give DVD Shrink problems, but File mode should work with DVD Decrypter
Yeah RE2 choked DVD Decrypter befiore the update for ArCos(?spelling anyone) Protection. -
when is Bazooka ever wrong?
. I managed to hunt down the post I saw earlier and seen that it was an out of date comment I picked up on
I have seen that File Mode is better to rip with even more these days. I'm like pyrate83 as I've used it since day one as ISO's are so limiting. I don't backup DVD's much, if at all, so I'm well behind these days regarding the latest crap sometimes. It doesn't take much to catch up though
I've also read that blanks appeared for some regarding RE2 and also that DVDShrink removes commands (??) but this is just stuff I've read and not experienced. I hate that as I like to test stuff myself before making a call as some people do things differently -

not true. using v3.190 (old) and ripped entire DVD in File Mode. no problemo. used DVD Shrink 3.2 to reauthor movie only. great[/quote]
-
judging from above, it may be ISO mode that may cause issues for some noki
File mode all the way for me -
