  1. I've been looking for a good audio card recently to replace my nVidia nForce onboard on my Abit NF7-S.It's done alright but I think I need a better card for better quality and some more features I need.I was looking at the top of the line Creative's but I've read bad things about out of sync captures and I simply can't have that.I'll need SPDIF output and support for 5.1 speakers along with the usual suspects.I of course plan to capture a lot of VHS/TV aswell as transfer analog cassettes.I'm looking at the Echo Mia's but I'd like to know what cards others use here atm.The Echo Mia's are kinda expensive.I have an ATI TV Wonder VE if it helps.

    -thanks

I have an audigy 2 and i can capture up to 4 hours and more without audio going out of sync as long as there is no dropouts due to bad tape spots.
    I think,therefore i am a hamster.

You're right to be leary of Creative (IMO I think they suck). Two suggestions: budget - Turtle Beach 'Santa Cruz', best $40 sound card you'll ever buy. Top tier - Terratec 'Aureon 7.1 Universe' (I just bought this one $200 and all the bells and whistles you'll ever want. Good luck
