OK....If it only affected NTSC models, then there should be no problems purchasing one in Australia.....Anyone in OZ own one? Happy with it??
Second question...Is the DVD-Ram format different to the Panasonic units? In other words, can DVD-Ram discs be interchanged between the Panasonic units and the JVC units ???

    A DVD-RAM is a DVD-RAM. Blank discs.
However, RAM is inferior to RW media, as RAM cannot use DVD-Video mode, the mode supported by DVD players.

Yep, I'm from OZ, and I got one of these babeees. I love it.

I've only ever had one issue with it, and that was the "loading" issue, and it's only happened once. Take not though, that this is mainly used by my parents, and they never turn the damn thing off.

Have had it for about 6months now, and it's great. Very nice looking recordings from a sepearate vhs.

Hi Smurf....Can you explain DVD-Video mode for me and its improvements over DVD-ram thanks.
Also does the JVC DRM10 have a Flexable Recording mode similar to the Panasonic?

    VIDEO mode is DVD-Video spec
VR mode (VRO files on RAM) is NOT DVD-Video spec

VR does not play on many players
    VIDEO does

    Thanks LordSmurf

Hi KEK.....I bought one of these babeees from The Good Guys yesterday, and have just done my first read of the manual. Does this unit do flexible recording (like if a movie is going to run for 1 hour 32 mins, you can set up the recording so that if fills the disc for that time period)??
If so, how do you set it up to do that??

    Thanks in advance....
