  1. Is there any way to make a LaserDisc fit in a DVD player?
I thought I read once that you could.

    Hello,

Nope. The dvd is way too small. Not physically possible.

You'd have to capture the laserdisc to dvd and then burn it to play it on a dvd player.

You need to plug the output from your laser disk player into the inputs to your video capture card (which of course you have), and capture the video and audio to your PC. Once there, encode the video as mpeg-2, the audio as AC3 (preferably) or mpeg-layer2 audio, author with menus and burn to DVD. Laser discs are physically larger than DVDs, so they will not fit in a DVD player. They are also different in structure, and would not play back even if you could fold them down to fit.

Are you really trying to help me or practicing stand-up at my expense?

    Hello,

What guns1inger is trying to say is that it simply won't fit. And it wouldn't play even if it could fit because it isn't the same format as dvd.

You're best bet would be to get a video capture card for the pc or a settop dvd recorder to convert it to dvd.

or you could get a CANOPUS ADVC-100 ANALOG TO DIGITAL CONVERTER connect it to your pc via firewire card then plug in the audio/video inputs of the CANOPUS to your laserdisc a/v outputs.....i'm currently capturing my laserdisc's via CANOPUS ADVC-100 as i post to this thread.....or as gunslinger suggested you could get a CAPTURE card for your pc.....in my opinion the CANOPUS ADVC-100 is a great device with no dropped frames or audio/video snyc problems.....

i use the program SCENALYZER LIVE to capture to my pc then use TMPGE PLUS to encode to MPEG 2 then use TMPGE DVD AUTHOR to author the dvd then use NERO to burn.

ummmmmm how could a laserdisc fit in a dvd player????????? obviously the laserdisc itself is much bigger than a dvd disc!!!!! :P
