Whats Faster for a Cable Modem, USB or ethernet?

Ethernet. Even if your card is only 10Mbps, ethernet should be faster. Not to mention USB requires additional drivers and can cause additional conflicts. Plus the more USB devices you add, the more you're squeezing your connection.

I just bought a new mobo and it says 10/100/1000 mb for lan or somthing, is that good for high speed? -

USB cable modem connections suck
They're a pain in the ass to get working correctly -
Ethernet all the way for your cable modem. It might be 10/100/1000 but all your likely to use is the 10. Even so its still better then a USB hookup.

Father-in-law had has DSL running off his USB2 port... I reconnected it via his 10/100 card and his performance increased 20+%.
