    I am considering purchasing Adobe Premier Pro. Do I need a separate DVD authoring program in order to make DVDs? Thanks.

    Yep. Premiere Pro is just an editor.

    You can output a DVD in Premiere but it is just plays, no menu -nothin.

    Premiere Pro can make a DVD, but has no authoring capiblities. The disc will have no menus, just video. Adobe Encore DVD is for authoring and works well with Premiere Pro it comes with the Adobe Studio bundle.
