  1. I have my NEC 3520 waiting at FedEx for me to pick up after work. I still have about 30 - 4X Prodisc Injet Printable DVD's left, but ill be ordering more media in the next week.

Id like to get other NEC 3520 owners experience with media. If people could post what media they use, what it actually burns at (ie 8X media burning at 16X) and any other info on media used with this drive id appreciate it.

I have an R300, so im hoping i hear some good things about the ProDisc 8X inkjet printable burning at 16X with good stand alone capability.

    Any info is appreciated.

    I just installed my 3250.

I would also Like this info

Also is NEC a "-"(dash/minus) or "+"(plus) brand.

I know that the NEC 3520 does both but which does it like better.

I only have dash/minus 8x's media right now but Fuji plus are on sale at Best Buy right now for 40 cents a disc if you buy a hundred pack I already got some of the TDK dash/minus 8x's media that is on sale.

I haven't burned anything yet on my 3520.

I have another project to work on I am going to flash my Liteon 451 to a 832 I think.

But I have never done a firmware flash before, good luck to me.

People have said that the biggest differences are the "+/- RW" Burn speed are faster @ 8x's and 6x's respectively. Also there is a firmware upgrade coming from NEC for dash/minus DL burning when the dahs/minus Dual layer media is actually available.
