    Does anyone have any suggestions as to how, when I find two titles on a DVD that have seemingly identical content, I discern the difference? I want to make sure I back up the right title...

    Open VIDEO_TS.IFO and it tells you which VTS group of files pertains to which title number. Then use software such as PowerDVD or WinDVD (or even IFOEdit's inbuilt player) to and preview to determine which title you want to keep.
