i have two .avi files with 2 subtitle files. is there a way to burn these files so that they can play on a dvd player. i encoded both of them into dvd files, but when i tried to put it on a dvd-r, it wouldnt fit. so now the only thing i could thing of doing is putting it on 2 dvd's. is this the only thing i can do or can i put these files on 1 dvd?

re-encode them, but set the bitrate to a more siuiable value (one that allows both to fit on 1 DVD, if that is your goal). Use a bitrate calculator. Try a guide or two.
If in doubt, Google it.
