After reading about all of the problems everyone's been having with the various media, I decided to forgo saving 20 cents per disc and simply going with the best. I ordered 200 of the white 8X hub printable TYs today. Will see how well they perform with my Pioneer 108.
***EDIT: I bought them from Rima at .67 each (+ ship), so I know I won't be getting fakes.

Congrats.
Welcome to 16x burning. (or actually, a friend seems to actually burn slower or at the same speed in the end at 16x with his 108 as 8x..)
But regardless..heh heh... Ty's are the only brand aside from Maxell that I dont verify after every burn..it's quite nice having that confidence. Let us know how they work out for ya.:star: :star: :star: :star:

I have bought TY's recently because of all the positive comments by members on this site. My experiences have all been bad, I think the blanks I received were TY fakes.
In fact, I have returned all of them except 3. I now intend to send these 3 blanks to the TY distributor in Australia and confirm whether or not the blanks in my possession are in fact TY fakes. -
use dvdinfopro or something else to identify the media. rima.com has good prices on taito's. great store.

Copy protection has to be much more effective when you put it on a disc that has something on it to protect.

I bought 15 Maxell's from Staples the other day and my Kill Bill Vol. 1 backup froze on my XBOX. 8x...03's. Used Decryptor, Shrink, and then Decryptor to burn.
I have 100 TY's coming today...hopefully they'll be alright. -
I'm giving Prodisc 1 last chance before switch to TY's...

I should have been more specific. TY, and Maxell MEDIA ID codes are the only I feel safe enough not to verify every time.
Not just any maxells I buy..(although, I only get TY and MXL media ID as I'm a japan-only kinda guy.)
