Hello all,
I have a question. I have a project that converts old Super-8mm and Regular 8mm film to DVD (NTSC). The details are here:
http://www.jiminger.com/s8/index.html
In short, after capturing the film I have an M-JPEG AVI file with a frame rate of 15 to 18 fps. I use TMPGEnc to convert these AVI files to an NTSC compiant DVD and I let it do the conversion to NTSC frame rates.
Could someone tell me what it is actually doing? I'm trying to figure out if I should spend time working on an 15/18 fps to 60 fields per second pulldown script for AVISynth or VirtualDub or if I should just let it go the way it is.
In searching the archives and the internet I could'nt find the details of what is actually occuring inside TMPGEnc.
Thanks in advance,
Jim

Do these clips have sound? If not then sync isnt an issue, and easier results might be 23.976 with the 3:2 pulldown.

Any information would be appreciated.
