  1. I have an old samsung dvd player which does not play CD-R's. I wanted to know if there is a way to fix that. I have a VCD which is recorded on a CD-R I am trying to play it. The DVD player does say that it plays VCD's.
    Thanks

You may be out of luck. Older players may play commercial CD VCDs and not burned ones. You might post the model of your player and someone here may have some info on compatibility.

Some older DVD players won't even play music CD-R's. Even fewer older ones can play SVCD's correctly. Sorry man....shit happens.

  5. You're probably stuck on this one. Some older DVD players will play VCDs on CD-R but _not_ music audio CDs on CD-R. My Daewoo 5800, for instance, players VCDs and SVCDs and SVCDs and XSVCDs authored and burned on CD-R...but it will NOT play an audio CD-R. Well...that's what I use my older audio CD player for. Audio CD players typically do a much better job of playing audio CDs, anyway.
