Experiment. Most manuals on most products are worthless. Most guys never bother reading them anyway.

Not sure if this is what your looking for but here is what lingoguysw5 posted before:

'You need to select EDIT using your control then CREATE and each time you want to stop the scene let's say for adverts you press the ENTER key until you reach the end of your movie then once satisfied save it as a playlist giving it a name if you so desire and an index thumbnail so you know what it is all about. Any excess you don't want on the end you just delete selecting the DELETE option found under EDIT.

You can also jump backwards and forwards using the jump option f (default set at 15 mins) or using the FF/RW keys.

Once you've created the playlist however do not delete the original until you have it saved somewhere otherwise you will lose the playlist too. I hope that helps'

  6. If all you want to do is remove the adverts before burning on DVD, then create a playlist. select only those portions of the title that have the actual film and then burn the playlist.

    Go to EDIT, PLAYLIST, CREATE

you can then play, fastforward, reverse, pause and frane advance the recording until you get to the frame you want to use as the IN or OUT point. Click on IN/OUT and it will add that point to the scene list. Move on through the recording to the next in/out point and repeat. When you have finished you can preview your finished playlist by using the NEXT and Back buttons to jump to the edit points to get an idea what they will look like.
When you are happy, click OK to accept your newly created playlist. This is what you then DUB to a DVD disk.

Do not delete the original recording until you have dubbed the playlist to dvd as it will also delete the playlist.

    Hope this helps

    Pict01,

I figured out how to do this some time ago and I remembered reading this thread some time ago and was trying to find it to lend a helping hand. You are right on, dude. Although, one thing, you dont have to create a playlist to edit. Another way to do it is just

    EDIT
    (ORIGINAL) DIVIDE
use your remote arrows to find your file (has a preview window when the file is highlighted) so you know which file is being edited. ENTER
Use play button/FF/REW and PAUSE buttons to find exact cut point.
    DIVIDE
    PREVIEW (if you like)
    OK.

Do this for every segment that has commercials or unwanted segments.

I then create a playlist(s) (if the original file has more than 8 edited segments) for burning.

Cut points are ACCURATE to the point of your choice
