  1. First I should say that I have caputred avi (home movie) and used TMPGEnc to convert and author a DVD with no problems.

    My probelm is that this specific avi that I have will only produce static when previewed on computer. I have converted the avi with TMPGEnc. The wav file that is converted sounds fine. I author it and when I preview on computer before I burn I have hiss or static. When I inspect the vob file it says it has no audio or 0 audio tracks. Anyone seen this?

    Use an audio program such as GoldWave to create a wav or pcm file that meets dvd spec, then remux into the video file.
