  1. This must be asked by some one before. But I have some difficulties finding the answer. It is probably the search argument that I used was too generic.
I have a DVD which I can display the folders using windows explorer and I can play it with no problem on my DVD and my PC. I used nero to copy the DVD ( The DVD is already a DVD-R, not the original. I did not see any copy right message from Nero). The DVD was copied with no error. However I cannot play it on my DVD palyer and Windows explorer cannot see the DVD.

I have no idea why ? Any help ?

SInce I can read the original DVD using Windows explorer. Instead of using Nero , can I just copy the folders to a Data DVD. Not sure this will work. But since DVD copied did not, it may worth a try. However I like to make sure if I just copy the folders, will the DVD play on my DVD player ?

    Hello,

Is it an original?? Is it single layer or dual layer?? Details please.

You can always use dvdshrink. It will read the disc.

  4. Sorry, I assume that all DVDs have the same folders.
The DVD that I want to copy from is the original. The folders on the DVD when displayed by windows explorer is Video_TS and Audio_TS. There is nothing in folder audio_ts. All the files such as IFO, VOB, BUP are inside Video_TS.

I used Nero DVD copy to copy the DVD. The result DVD is not even recognised by Windows or my DVD player.

  5. Try this:

Put the DVD in you computer and open Nero. Go to Recorder/Disk Info.

See if Nero reports that there is still some space available. I think Nero should report no space available (It would be greyed out).

Lately I have had a lot of DVD +R's that Nero reported succesful burns but they would not play in my DVD player and windows could not see them. When I checked Disk Info it said there was still some space left to record on. DVD +R's that played fine did not show this.

The only solution I found was too record less than 3GB on these disks.

Could you expand on that a bit? Which post were you replying to?

Does it sound like my disks are not being closed due to bad media? Why would Nero the data is verified at the end of the burn when clearly there is some kind of problem?

  8. when ya open a new complemation, and ya click over on multisessions make sure its no multisessions.

basicly a multi session is files writen to a cd or dvd, but the table on the disc that tells the pc or dvd set top player were the files are on the disc itself. is still open, by default windows, and dvd set top player just can't read these discs. when ya launch up nero it tosses its own drivers / software in and reads the disc and then you can close the multisession out.

you may have to write a 2mb or larger file to dvd / cd to close it. been away from burning areana way to long to remeber the book standards.

be wary, what you are discussing smacks of warez.

however, if as you say the disc is already a copy use DVD Decrypter to read an ISO file of the disc and then again to write the ISO to a blank.

With NERO, I select DVD-VIDEO instead of DVD Copy and browse to the disc I want to copy, grab everything in the VIDEO_TS folder and drop it in the NERO VIDEO_TS folder. When I tried DVD Copy, never worked right.

What strategy are you using to copy it? Just Copy DVD?

Under DVD on the left panel, try choosing "Video DVD", when the NEW comes up, loosen restrictions, Long Filename, 8+3, etc, under "Mutisession", check "No Multisession".

Your compilation window should show an Audio_TS and a Video_TS. Double click to open the Video_TS, then open the Video_TS on the Explorer pane to the right, drag all the VOBS and BUPs and IFOs to the left, then burn.

If you're doing it right Nero should burn, if something is wrong, Nero will tell you so.

If this is too basic, sorry, but I don't know your skill level, and the other posts may be assuming too much. It is right after Christmas, after all, many people have gotten their first burner, and in their excitement may skip a thing or two.

    Cheers,

    George
