I just started having a Problem last night when I tried to start a new project in TMPGenc 3.0 Express. After I opened TMPGenc 3.0 I hit Start new project then I hit Add file and it gives me an error box. The error is:
VFAPIFrameserver.exe has encountered a Problem and needs to close.
Does anyone know what is causing this? Restarting the computer does not help and the error is still there.
Thanks for any help you can give.

Sounds like the VFAPI FS File reader has become corrupt.
First try disabling this, go to 'Option' -> 'Input plug-in setting' and untick the 'VFAPI Frame Server file reader', then close and re-start TMPGEnc and see if the problem goes away.
If it does then I would suggest you re-install TMPGEnc. -
That worked. I can even re-check the : 'VFAPI Frame Server file reader', and it now works fine with no error message. Would you still recommend re-installing TMPGenc?
I bought TMPGenc 3.0 at the first of October and they released an update about 2 weeks later. Will they let you install the update and use your existing serial number? That is what it looks like by reading their website.
Thanks,

Probably no need then to re-install, it is often the case that just re-setting values can fix minor operating problems.
Yes the update in October was just a bug-fix so you are entitled to the upgrade it should just install over your current copy and inherit the serial number.
