There are DVD menu's that I would love to use as wallpaper but I want the buttons removed. For example this:

Is there a program where I can delete the text or is the text printed onto the image?

Also, is there a program that can take higher quality screenshots? that was taken from Power DVD but I'd like it bigger & better quality.

    ~ Thanks

    Hello,

    Hmm.. that's a toughy.

About the best you could do is save the picture as bmp in powerdvd and use virtualdubmod with delogo. Then follow the guides to remove the text. BUT I've never done it with a still image so I don't know what the result would be. Also delogo is nice but not perfect.

You may just be better off taking a still shot off the actual episode and customize it yourself

If its just a still image then you will get best results using some form of imaging software like Photoshop or Paintshop. These programs have "clone" tools that let you copy one portion of the image to another, but you sort of draw it on there. You can basically paint out the text.

As far as taking a higher quality screenshot, I think the best method would be to treat as if you were ripping a DVD. Rip the vob containing the menus to your hard drive and open it in something like VirtualDubMod and export to a still image. Ultimately, that may just be the quality of your source. 720x480/576 (max res for DVD) isn't all that high when compared to what your monitor's native resolution may be.

I remember using a program where you can like edit the buttons, select & change the links or something. It makes me wonder if I could have deleted the buttons.....
