  1. My first post. If any answer has been available in this forum, I apologize but please link me the answer (I did a search but did not find anything).

I attempted to make home DVDs from my camcorder. The DV capture was fine, the code conversion went well. The resulted .mpg (or m2v+wav) plays smoothly without any problem. I first tried both DVDLab and DVDAuthorGui
to authorize 3 video clips in one DVD (all in series). They were both reported done successfully. However, when I played them in my computer (WinDVD) only the first chapter (the first video clip) can be played, others were not reachable.

I first doubted that the menu system and the link between clips were not correct. I then connect all the three clips into a large one from the .avi and then converted and authorized. This time was even more weired: only the first .vob can be played and the play restarted automatically.

Did anyone in this forum experienced anything similar. I used Pinnacle once but the similar thing happened: only the first part of the DVD is playable. I burn data using the same drive and there were no problem.

    Please help.

    gnim.

Did you load the VIDEO_TS.IFO file into WinDVD, or did you just double-click on the VTS_01_1.VOB file ?
    If in doubt, Google it.

  3. What I did is to create a DVD image and insert that image into one virtual drive. I am assuming this is the same as I put a actual DVD disk into the physical drive.
