  1. Trying to make a backup copy of a DVD. When I attempt to open it with DVD Shrink, I receive an error message about 15% of the way into it opening:

    Failed to read file "E:\"
    Data Error (cyclic redundancy check).

    I've also tried opening with DVD Decrypter and I receive an error there as well. Other DVD's I have backed up in the past work just fine.

    Probably a scratch on the disk.

    Which disc? There's 47 threads here with the same issue. Is it any of those titles?

  4. What are you searching under? I searched under DVD Shrink opening error and didnt get anything related to my issue....the DVD I am backing is Resident Evil

    Sorry, the 47 number was sarcasm , but we've seen Resident Evil enough in the last week to recognize the symptoms.

    The search on Resident Evil will get you sorted in no time.

    i just tried to back up resident evil 2 also...
    decrypter stops and can not read...
    i tried dvdrom toschiba, liteon and burner pioneer..
    all of them the same problem....it stops in a while unreadable..

    can original dvd has some mastering error or something?
