    Are there any know issues with the Sony DRU-710A? A friend purchased one, installed it and it doesn't read any type or media, CD,DVD-/+ R or DVD movies. Any ideas?

    If your friend's drive doesn't even read any media, then there's a problem with his/her system setup or s/he got a defective drive. There are no known reading issues with the DRU-710A.
