  1. I know this is going to sound stupid on my part but I can't find in the manuel how to finalize a DVD-R disc.

Also what do you suggest as far as a Ram cartridge disc to use with this machine, the model # would be a big help.

Is there any good deals around on reliable DVD-R discs (good quality than can play on most other players) in quantities of 25 - 50 - 100

  2. The E55 manual is lacking clarity, so don't worry about it.

You need to be out of the menu or Direct Navigator as Panasonic calls it, so hit return on the remote. Now, hit functions on the remote and select Disc Setting. On the Disc Setting page for DVD-R you can finalize, name the disc, and select the first play option.

I don't have any RAM cartridges because I cannot find them locally. I hope someone like Walmart will stock the Panasonic RAM carts.

As far as DVD-R disc, I got 2 packs of 25 Maxell 4x DVD-R for $9.95 each a couple of weeks ago on sale at Office Depot. That's not a bad deal at 40 cents a piece. They turned out to be Ritek G04's, and so far all have worked flawlessly in an E55S, in my JVC DVD player, and on every computer DVD drive I have. I am sure there are similar or even better deals out there if you like to hunt for bargains.

  3. Can you just buy empty cartridges to put in ram discs we already have?

  4. I don't think so. Get one in a cart already they are worth it. You do not finalize Ram disks.

  6. A well made cart with a disk in it can last a long time. I been using the same ones for 20 months.
