  1. Hey!
First of all I would like to say that I'am from Sweden...so pardon my English.

I have recently start to burn Dual Layer DVD's and now it seems like my Philips DVP720SA can't read the Dual Layer DVD's.

I've burned three disks and I only get "No Disc" when I try to play them in my dvd.
But a friend of mine had no problem playing them in his Pioneer 575.
Soo...now I'm asking all of you if you can recomend any DVD-player that CAN play this kind of DVD-media.
I have looked into the Pioneer 575 and I've read the www.videohelp.com/dvdplayers list.
But I realy would like some feedback from you guys about this...

All answers would be much appreciated!

First off, Welcome to the forum.
Secondly, don't worry about your english, it is
    better than mine.
And now to my suggestion. I would take my DL disc
to my favorite electronics store. Find a player that
has the features you like and actually try the disk
in the player. Best of luck finding a new player.

Guess I'll do that first thing on monday!

  7. Before you decide on a new player have you tried bit setting your +DL's to DVD-ROM? This may get past the "No Disk" problem. If it does watch the movie all the way through to check your player deals with the layer break.

  8. I've read about this but I thought this was only necessary to do on older players. Hmmm......maybe my player is becoming one of those old ones..

This Bit Setting....could someone please tell me where to make the change...

  9. Most players are old when it comes to +DL and when -DL comes out the same will be the case.

Usually your drive manufactorer will have a tool to set this. DVD Decrypter has one to the right of where you set the write speed.

This will not always work but it will boost compatibility pasted the very low percentage +DL has at the moment.

  10. You can also use DvdInfo to Bit set your disks before burning.

  11. Ok!
I will test this immediately when I get new DVD-DL media!
    I realy appreciate your help!

    Elyinduil:
I cannot make recommendations on +DL
compatable players. The DL media is still too rich
for my blood. I salute your bulging wallet.
I have a norcent dp-300 that will play a coffee
can lid. I am curious how it will handle +DL.
Best of luck on your quest and happy new year.

  13. I can only agree...
I have burned three dvd's...and can't play one of them!
It is indeed expensive trying to get it right...
Hopefully the Bit-Setting-thing may change the outcome...or I need to buy a new player....
    Expensive buisness this DL-Burning..
