    Start looking here:

    https://www.videohelp.com/capturecards

I don't know I only used a ATI for a week or so but had to exchange it for a wintv pvr250 because I couldn't get the audio to sound right. (I've had the wintv pvr250 for about 2 years now and LOVE IT )

I LOVE my 250. So I can't compare honestly with an ATI since I never used one successfully.

NOTE - WINTV PVR 250 is MPEG ONLY!

    Hello,

It has multiple recording levels. From vcd to 12mbs mpeg2.

It all depends on how good the video tape or tv broadcast is. The lower bitrate will look worse as will lower picture quality of the source material

Hi Kevin, sorry I did not introduce myself earlier, I'm Joe!
Let's say the tv signal is perfect quality.. will the capture be a perfect recording if you adjust the settings?

Hauppauge is clean, nice, high quality, though slightly softer image. MPEG only too, no AVI. One of the best choices.
