  1. OK, I have a capture of some sports news from my cable TV. Now, I have encoded it to DivX and the quality is amazing. Thing is, on white and sometimes blue backgrounds. I have a spectrum of flickering colour.

Anyone know how this can be solved?

    Thanks in advance

  2. Color information is carried on a lower bandwidth subcarier than the intensity signal. When there are small, high contrast details in the grayscale signal, you get color moire patterns like that.

If you're using a composite cable you can try switching to an S-Video cable instead. Other than that there's not much you can do about it.

  3. Oh, OK I get you. I can't switch to S-Video at the moment because I don't have the leads, it's something that I will be doing very soon though. Thanks

EDIT: Do you know if there is an S-Video connector which connects to the 3 coloured Phono leads?
