Hi Ive been lurking here for a bit, and can usually troubleshoot my own problems, but this one has me stumped.

I have been able to copy home movies that are already on dvd with no problems, make dvds from my camcorder videos etc. But the VHS to DVD to computer just isnt happening for me.

I recently bought a Toshiba DVD video recorder D-R410KU. I have my vcr plugged into that and can get those onto DVD with no problem. I can play them on our other dvd player and on my pc with no problems. I have been using Ulead Video Studio 9 for all of my dvd editing with no problems up until now. When I import the DVD to the ulead program (using Capture - then import from DVD) it imports fine but there is only video, no audio. The audio is on the DVD and i can hear it while viewing it on my pc.

I want to be able to import the movies so i can edit, add menu, chapters etc.

I have read through my DVD recorder owners manual, and through the Ulead help sections and just cant figure it out. Please let me know what additional info you need from me.

Thank you so much for your help!

I suspect that it is an AC3 issue - Perhaps your version of videostudio cannot import AC3 audio ?

Thank you. that was the problem. I reread through the recorder manual and realized I needed to change the recording speed to change the audio from Dolby Digital to PCM. PCM was only available when recording in XP. Thank you!!
