Has anyone used this setup to get by the macrovision on their video tapes when trying to dump to DVD? I have the Sima GODVD unit between my VCR and ATI Card Component Cable.
I set it up last night and some of the time the picture was great and other times the macrovision seemed to creep through?
Could it be the cheap RCA video cable that came with the unit or something else? I really dont want to spend another 300 - 350 bucks on a TBC to do my transfers so any help is appreciated!
Thanks!

I have the ATI AIW 9600 and the GoDVD. The only problems I've had are with VHS tapes recorded in EP. With those I still got the macrovision effect even though the video was of home footage (ie, no macrovision). Unfortunately, the only solution I've seen is to get a TBC or a SVHS unit with one built in. I've had no problems with commercial quality tapes.
