The way I use it / think of it is ... tracks are for multiple movies / episodes and chapters are chapters within each movie / episode. For example, you can configure the DVD to go to the track menu on insert. From there select a movie / episode which takes you to the chapters menu for that one. Then hit play or select a chapter to start with. After that movie / episode is finished then you could have the DVD configured to play the next movie / episode or go back to the main menu.
I'd suggest playing around with the menu options and seeing which one fits your needs ... there are a lot of ways to configure the DVD / menu. -
So tracks and chapters are the same things with different name....is that right? I mean we could have different movies under one single track and name them chapters and do the same job...

This is best explained with an example:
You're lucky enough to have been on holiday 3 times in one year, and you've enought footage to fill a DVD.
Each holiday could have it's own track, as it is separate and distinct from the other holidays - so you'll have three tracks, one for each holiday.
Each track (holiday video) will then have it's own chapters: e.g. 1. leaving home, 2. at the airport, 3. the trip to the resort, 4. arriving at our villa, 5. kids in the pool, 6. the day it rained, 7. a day trip to the local winery, 8. dad after the trip to the winery, 9. the beach, 10. going home etc. etc.
Each track (holiday video) would have it's own chapters - points you can jump to without having to fast forward / rewind through the whole holiday.
Another good example: Commercial DVDs.
You have the main film, the extras, and the making of. Each one of these could occupy it's own track. The main film has its chapters, as do the extras and the making of.
Does that help? There is some corner of a foreign field that is forever England: Telstra Stadium, Sydney, 22/11/2003.
