Has anyone bought the 100 pack and they were "Made In Japan"? I have never bought the 100 pack at Best Buy before....

Yes...they stock Japan made fuji normally. I'd say 3:1 are made in japan, at least from what I've seen in the past.

I bought a 50-pack of DVD-R discs for $19.99 a few weeks ago on sale but it said 8x on the package and MADE IN JAPAN so it was Taiyo Yuden.

These 100-packs say 4x so chances are they are Prodisc or something other than Taiyo Yuden because Taiyo Yuden hasn't made 4x DVD-R in a while now.

Make sure you check the package well to ensure it says MADE IN JAPAN otherwise it ain't worth it.

The PRODISCF01 media is not bad at all. Only the INKJET version of that media seems to be getting the bad press, not the regular ones.

The SKU number for the Fuji 4x and 8x is the SAME, well at least for the +R anyway... so you can get the 8x 100 +R pack for the same price. Not sure about the -R packs.

I got an 8X 100 pack of +R the other week when they were on sale for $34.99, they are made in Japan with media code YUDEN000T02. Not too wild about them in my burner (Sony DRU500a w/firmware v2.1a). Of the 16 I've burned, I've made 3 coasters (burn fails midway through with an error). Prior to this spindle, I had never used anything but 1-4x Ricoh RICOHJPNR01 since I got my burner and I had never burned a coaster before. So either I got a bad batch of TYs, or my burner just doesn't really like 8x discs.

A friend ordered the +R via the web site at that same time (he doesn't have a store near him), he received a 4x spindle made in Taiwan. I forget what media code he told me they were.

  9. The BB on Sunset Road in Henderson is selling the 8X discs for 39.99. The -R media is made in Taiwan and the +R media is made in Japan. The line was too long or I would have picked up the +Rs. I'll post the media code when I get chance to buy some.

I was at BEST BUY today and they only had one pack of the FUJI 100 count DVD-R discs.

Package said 8x so I was excited!

But it said MADE IN TAIWAN on the package. I could also see the top of the top disc and it also said MADE IN TAIWAN on it.

    I didn't buy it.

  14. Local BB has several (12+) of each (-R and +R) but all said MADE IN TAIWAN. PLUS: I wanted printables

BTW: local BB also had Verbatims +R's same price ($39.99/100pk)
